Where does our emergency aid go
The emergency aid goes to our fellow brothers and sisters and their immediate surroundings but also to children’s homes for neglected, homeless, physical and mental disabled children. Furthermore to hospitals, homes for the elderly, aid stations and villages in the interior of Surinam. Schools are also supported by us.
Who are we
Stichting Corantijn originates from the social welfare work of the New Apostolic Church in the Netherlands.
Our mission is to contribute to the development of the local population in Surinam on spiritual, social, medical and educational issues. Read more
What is it we do
Support our fellow-man in Surinam by, among other things, sending twice or three times each year a container with emergency aid. In the coming five years we will put our efforts into sustainable projects, the Foster Institution Support and small scale economic projects. Besides all this we offer help with calamities and acute small scale aid. Policy plan 2020-2022

Saving for a Transport
Saving campaign: every year we ship at least three 40 foot containers with relief goods to Surinam. We would like to expand this to more containers. Our financial means however are insufficient.
The costs include transport of the container from our warehouse in Lelystad to the port of Rotterdam/Paramaribo, inclusive clearance in Surinam, transit from the Paramaribo harbour to our storage in Welbedacht and inbound transport.
Transport expenses per container:
€ 8.500,-
