A view of our warehouse sale Makandra

In the warehouse of Makandra it is bustling with activity as soon as the sea container arrives. Relieve aid is being unloaded and sorted. The boxes and packages meant for the warehouse sale are kept separate.

The clothes and bedding are checked by Makandra staff; where needed they are washed and ironed, so that everything looks perfect for the sale. Each item is given a space. Clothes are neatly hung in racks, whilst other items are carefully placed on shelves. Everything is prepared for the sale, where customers can buy beautiful and useful items at a low price.

Makandra is not just a warehouse sale. The revenues go to important destinations. They are being used to cover the fixed costs, like the staff pay, electricity bill and container clearance charges.
But it goes even further: the money that is left over is invested in local projects, with which they support the local community. So every purchase contributes to a greater goal.
