In response to the call for non-medical relief supplies in her hometown, our secretary received enthusiastic responses from De Kwakel, Uithoorn, and Amstelveen. Donations were either delivered to her home, or she picked them up herself.
Beautiful conversations were held—sometimes with a laugh, but occasionally with a tear from the giver.
At home, she sorted the items, summer clothing, linens, toys, tools, tableware, cutlery, pots and pans, and packed them up. The goods are also being divided between Suriname and Bonaire, as more containers are waiting to be filled at our depot in Lelystad.
In the meantime the shipping container in De Kwakel is full and taken to the Rotterdam harbor. On its way to bring help to children and adults and a touch of happiness to their lives.
A heartfelt thanks to the generous donors for their warm support, but also to Henk Kooyman B.V., on whose land the container was placed, to Bruinsma Natuurlijk, for providing a transport van for moving furniture, and to the many volunteers for their muscle power and drops of sweat.
