The New Apostolic Church Veluwezoom and the New Apostolic Church Voorthuizen held a joint church service on the 11th of August.
During the sermon there is always a young person's moment in which something is explained in their language.
This time it was about the meaning of being merciful: in a forgiving way showing understanding for someone’s troubles.
What can you as a person contribute, because as a loner you cannot help all the beggars, homeless people, war victims or the hungry. What you can do is give someone a smile or encouraging word, listen to their stories, or lent a hand.
Reference was also made to large groups of people who work together to help people during disasters and wars, such as aid organizations.
The New Apostolic Church The New Apostolic Church also provides assistance to organizations in several countries. In the Netherlands this is done through Stichting Corantijn. There was a call to help the foundation so that they can help people.
But how? Donating money to distribute food parcels, drill wells for clean drinking water, renovate schools or build outpatient clinics, among other things. But it's not just money that matters. Helping collect goods in the Netherlands, packing them and preparing them for shipping, etc.
A jug was placed at the exit of the church building and the people were asked to make a contribution to transport relief supplies to Suriname.
A total of € 196.00 could be transferred.
What a sweet gesture, thank you very much!
