In the village of Phedra, which is situated in the north of the Brokopondro district, a primary school, the O.S. Phedra is located.
This district was struck by heavy rains which caused the roads to flood so schools have been closed for a long time. Sanitary facilities did not function anymore and learning resources and school furniture had become unusable.
The government meanwhile has initiated the painting of the school, in- and outside. And the lavatory groups and sinks are renewed.
Stichting Corantijn donated school furniture for the pupils of this school. The tables and chairs were, on our behalf, handed over to the school management by district commissioner Ludwig Mendelssohn.
