At the beginning of November 2023, the first container for 2024 left so that it would arrive in Surinam before the holidays.
Volunteers at the depot have worked hard to make this possible.
Goods were collected throughout the Netherlands, selected at the depot and packed by name.
Boxes and packages with (medical) relief supplies were, together with furniture, school materials, medical aids and other items, loaded into the container.
At the end of October, the container was offered for shipping in the port of Rotterdam.
Due to heavy traffic on the route and in the various ports visited during the journey, the container was delayed.
As a result, the container did not arrive in the port of Paramaribo until mid-January 2024.
