A number of befriended couples left for Surinam to celebrate their holidays.
From their immediate surroundings they received donations to give to children in need. Their first thought was to buy school materials.
After all, a child who receives a good education is given opportunities for the future.
When they arrived at their destination they went shopping in Paramaribo for (colored) pencils, lunch boxes, craft materials, drinking bottles, balls, notebooks, memo pads, etc.
Together they visited two primary schools and distributed the materials.
The children and teachers of the E.B.G. Ds. Rasmus M. Schmidtschool in Brownsweg and the O.S. Dijkveld in Paramaribo were extremely happy with this gesture.
The teachers ensure that the lunch boxes and drinking bottles reach those children who really need them.
