The news item on the NOS news on Whit Monday about the floods in Surinam has left a big impression on the pupils and teachers of primary school De Kwir in Neer. After the summer holidays their school furniture was being replaced and they decided to donate the ‘old’ furniture to a primary school in Surinam.
Stichting Corantijn was approached, as they were the ones that reported on the situation there in the NOS news.
When the furniture was collected the children of group 8 helped actively. Under the watchful eye of some teachers tables and chairs were carried away. Besides this also large tables, cupboards and stackable chairs were taken away. Teachers helped with the heavier items.
A great donation for the education in Surinam!
