Often children live far from their school. The distances are impossible to cover on foot, especially in tropical heat.
There are families who cannot let their children travel to school by bus due to a dire financial situation. This goes as well for buying a (second hand) bicycle.
These two children have it extra hard. Their parents died and now their grandfather died also. Grandmother is by herself now. The finances are short but nevertheless grandmother tries to help the boys by buying food, so that they at least have something to eat.
In order not to miss even more lessons a family in Holland answered to their cry for help and made sure they both received two bicycles. Stichting Corantijn helped with the transport and guaranteed delivery.
They are ever so pleased with this help.
