Children in the village of Witsanti can participate in after-school activities. There is sports and games, but educational activities are also organised. Think also about improving reading skills.
The organisation has received children's books from Stichting Corantijn for this purpose. This allowed them to set up a small library.
At fixed times every week reading books are handed out. Children who want this can then read a book for themselves. But more is being done. They read aloud a story from their book to the other children. It's not always easy, but they do.
In this way the children learn to dare more, it improves their reading qualities, develops technical reading and they get more reading pleasure.
