22.11.2010 Direct care
It's mid-November 2010 when the container shipped from the Netherlands on 7 October is unloaded in Surinam. The shipment includes a toilet chair and hospital bed intended for a New-Apostolic sister.
In April of this year one of Stichting Corantijn's board members visited this sister to determine what kind of aid was needed. For some time her daughter Maria had been taking care of her.
A few days after the container's arrival we, that is brother Nelis Pansa, his son Jemual and me, went over to deliver the bed.
The bed had to be taken apart en reassembled in her room because it wouldn't fit through the door.
With it came a package of additional aid materials, which was a welcome surprise.
The family was truly impressed and grateful when they received the bed.
After our hard work a meal was waiting for us.
We enjoyed a bowl of pea soup in gratitude of our help.
Through this article the family would like to thank Stichting Corantijn for providing the bed and additional aid.
