05.03.2010 Fireworks charity collection a roaring success!

Late 2009 we organized a fireworks charity collection in the Netherlands. Every year millions of Euros are burned up in fireworks. At the same time millions of children on this planet are starving from hunger. Do you see the injustice?

That's why we sent out the following call:
Spend 50% LESS on fireworks,
and fill a CHILD's stomach!

The results were spectacular; we received a total of € 1.502,60 !

Where does the money end up?

Part of the proceeds will be used to buy tube feeding. Last month we received a very urgent request for tube feeding, which is used to feed the very sick who are unable to feed themselves. Many care homes and medical posts in Surinam do not have the funds to buy tube feeding. That's why we want to give these institutions a helping hand.

A second portion of the proceeds is used to provide food relief for the very poor. Food packages consisting of everyday items such as rice, potatoes, garlic, sardines and beans are assembled by us in Surinam. This way we are able to support the local middle class in the same go.

Thank you once again for your tremendously generous contributions! Your support enables us to help the weakest people in Surinam with their most primary needs.
